The quality of your relationship with your supervisors can be crucial to the progress of your doctorate, and interactions with other researchers and staff can make a big difference to your experience of the doctoral journey.
This session will look at the types of professional relationships that you will develop as a doctoral researcher, approaches for making them work well for you, and steps to take if they are not.
It will also consider contextual scenarios and use these to promote discussion around establishing and maintaining good relationships with supervisors and with other researchers, and what to do if relationships are proving difficult.
The session will be led by Professor Doug Cleaver, Director of the Doctoral School at Sheffield Hallam, Dr Nicola Palmer, Head of Doctoral Training at Sheffield Hallam, and members of the YCEDE Scholars’ Board.
