We are excited to announce our upcoming circle mentoring session as part of YCEDE’S programme for PGRs on Thursday 22nd August 2024 between 5-7pm.
Circle mentoring is a collaborative approach to mentorship that fosters learning, growth, and support among a group of individuals. The session offers mentees the opportunity to connect with 2-3 mentors from a similar field simultaneously and benefit from their different perspectives, experiences, and insights.
Our circle mentoring session is a great opportunity to interact and engage with mentors. It is not a panel or a talk but rather an interactive session, so active participation is key to unlocking the full potential of the experience – the more you put in the more you gain! We would suggest coming prepared with questions and discussion prompts to gain the most out of the session.
Please note, in order to align with YCEDE aims, circle mentoring is open to UK/home domiciled PGRs from racially-marginalised backgrounds who are from YCEDE partner universities (Bradford, Sheffield, Sheffield Hallam, York, and Leeds).
In this session we will welcome three mentors from the field of science communications, marketing and people science:
- Sarah Sabir – Communications Consultant at Oxford PharmaGenesis
- Karolina Urbanska – People Scientist, designing tools to help organisations assess their culture and talent
- Jenna Spencer-Briggs – Marketing Manager at Radleys (Science Marketing)
If you meet the eligibility criteria, please register your interest in attending the circle mentoring session using the google form here by midnight on Tuesday 6 August 2024. Please note, as spaces are limited, registration does not guarantee your place on the session.
