On Thursday 29th February, YCEDE’s External Advisory Board (EAB) met in-person for the first time since the board were formed at the start of 2023.
Held at The University of York’s Heslington Hall, the meeting was well-received by all who attended, and consisted of fascinating and stimulating discussions around the upcoming activities of member organisations, ensuring YCEDE’s legacy and sustainability beyond the end of our funding in 2025, and the research of some of our scholarship holders and scholars board members.
The latter was undoubtedly the most memorable and valuable discussion, as three PGRs presented their research to the board and answered questions surrounding their journey through academia to date, the contribution YCEDE has made to their progression and development, and their ideas for other work that YCEDE and the EAB could conduct in future.
The next meeting of the EAB will be held online at the end of April, where we intend to continue discussions on how to embed YCEDE’s legacy in our institutions, and hear updates from EAB members who were unable to attend in February.
