YCEDE is delighted to announce that Paulette Williams, Founder and Managing Director of Leading Routes, will join our External Advisory Board (EAB) with immediate effect.
Paulette has over two decades of experience in fair access and equity in education, and education strategy. In 2017, she founded Leading Routes, a social enterprise dedicated to supporting Black scholars into higher education, highlighting Black-led research, and collaborating with institutions to create inclusive cultures.
She is active in addressing racial inequities in higher education contributing to advisory groups led by organisations such as Universities UK (UUK) and London Higher as well as Co-Chairing the Race Equality Steering Group at UCL where she works as Co-Lead for the BAME Awarding Gap project.
Paulette has delivered training, given keynotes and contributed to panels on topics linked to race equity in higher education and the BAME Awarding Gap; and remains passionate about creating a network in higher education for the Black community that support students throughout the academic lifecycle.
On her appointment to the EAB, Paulette added:
“Representing Leading Routes on the YCEDE Advisory Board is a great opportunity for our organisation to contribute to the important, sector changing work being delivered across the UK. We’re excited to see how some of the recommendations in the Broken Pipeline Report are not only being put into practice but also built upon through the incredible expertise and experience of those involved in the project.”
