We’re excited to share that we’ll be hosting the 7th BME ECR conference at the University of Leeds on July 13th 2023. This is the first time the conference will be hosted outside London. Co-hosted with the University of West London, this year’s programme is packed with inspiring keynotes, panel discussions, workshops, an exhibition, Q & A sessions and the fully funded, popular post-conference ‘Maximising your potential’ leadership training by Fistral Training. Theme: Building Communities of Influence. 

1st Keynote Speaker: Professor Jason Arday – Professor of Sociology of Education, University of Cambridge. **Come and listen to the youngest black person ever appointed to a professorship at Cambridge, and the youngest black professor in the UK!** 

2nd keynote Speaker: Brightness Mangolothi – Director at HERS-SA (Higher Education Resource Services – South Africa) 

Panel discussion: Navigating the Academy as a Minoritised Person- lessons and opportunities 

4 workshops: 

a. Leading in places that aren’t designed with you in mind 

b. Practicing well-being and self-care 

c. Identifying and leveraging opportunities 

d. Insight session: 100 Black Women Professors Now programme
